Restord Featured on BBC Panorama

We're delighted to share that Restord is featured in the latest episode of BBC Panorama, titled "Can Scientists Save the World?" This episode takes a close look at groundbreaking carbon technologies tackling climate change. Itโ€™s truly rewarding to see biochar - and our pilot site - featured in this important story.

In this episode, Panoramaโ€™s Richard Bilton explores a range of solutions being created to address the climate crisis, from mechanical trees that absorb COโ‚‚ to solar reactors that make fuel from fresh air. Each of these innovations shows promise, but they also need significant investment to scale up and deliver meaningful impact.

Our segment on the show dives into Restordโ€™s biochar pilot project in Cornwall, where weโ€™re turning forestry waste into biochar through a process called pyrolysis. This method captures and locks carbon in a stable form that can last for thousands of years. Other carbon removal methods such as direct air capture were also spotlighted in the broadcast. Also featured in this episode is our pyrolysis partner, Capchar, who shares their role in this project.
